The Codeshare marketplace has closed

codeshare.me ran a developer marketplace for some time: a place to publish source code, list developer services and sell them. As of 14 September 2026 that product is closed, and the domain now serves this company site.

Why

Two reasons, and neither is dramatic.

The first is interest. The marketplace never found the audience it needed. Listings stayed thin, most of the people who arrived were passing through, and the activity that makes a marketplace useful — sellers with something worth having meeting buyers who want it — did not materialise. A marketplace with few listings is not a smaller marketplace; it is a different and far less useful product.

The second is cost. It was by a wide margin the most demanding thing we operate, and it was nowhere near covering what it consumed. We looked carefully at its traffic before deciding, and the overwhelming majority of it was automated rather than people reading pages. Paying to serve that indefinitely was not a reasonable use of our resources.

The real cost of keeping a product alive past its usefulness is not the bill. It is the attention it takes from everything else.

What happens to your data

• Account data was exported and removed from the live system.
• Published listings and uploaded files were removed.
• Old marketplace URLs now return 404 rather than redirecting somewhere unrelated.

What Codeshare is now

The same thing it has been in practice for a while: a studio that builds and runs its own products. Beatra and Sylon on Discord, JustDiscord and JustAnime as community platforms, MCStat for Minecraft data and Dotrai for AI chat. All six are live, and closing the marketplace gives them more room.

Thank you to everyone who listed something, bought something, or simply had a look. It did not work out, and we would rather say so plainly than leave a dead product online pretending otherwise.
